I keep my stomach on a strict schedule of four good, small meals a day with absolutely NO eating in between: breakfast, lunch, dinner, and an even smaller snack at night. (I’m a night owl, and obviously the longer you’re up, the more you eat!) This way, I’ve eliminated junky snack foods from my diet that I used to pig out on and replaced them with moderate amounts of fruits, veggies, yogurt, and whole-grain crackers, which are MUCH more filling and satisfying. For those who have no problem keeping cavities at bay but still fight with gingivitis, here’s a tip my dentist gave me: Using an electric toothbrush, before you actually brush, hold the toothbrush against the gum line for about 5-10 seconds and let the rotation of the bristles do the work. Make sure you get behind the teeth too. I’ve barely done this for a week and already I can see a huge improvement. IYAMHEALTHY
My family keeps fresh fruit around so every time I eat a bowl of ice cream, I try to cut up some fruit like strawberries or bananas and then add the slices to it. It tastes really good and can be done with just about any fruit you want. It also makes me feel a little less guilty about eating a bowl of ice cream. IYAMHEALTHY
I suffer from hypersomnia and I have trouble staying awake. I was drinking two energy drinks a day. I quit cold turkey and I’m now getting up earlier in the morning to help wake me up and drinking coffee with honey. I still feel tired, but I no longer get the shakes or feel my heart beating funny. I used to be a huge juice drinker. My dentist told me to water it down. I slowly started watering it down to the point I couldn’t stand straight juice any more. Every week I decrease the amount of juice and increase the amount of water. Now I only use enough juice to flavor the water lightly, or just drink plain water. It has gotten to the point where I crave water and it is the only thing that truly quenches my thirst IYAMHEALTHY
